Schumacher: A Review

Tl;dr: if you’re not already a fan, don’t bother.

Or bother, but be prepared for some degree of boredom.

If you’ve watched the likes of Senna and Williams, you would have gone into this with high expectations. Michael Schumacher, seven-time world champion, indisputably one of the greatest F1 drivers there ever was and ever will be. A household name worldwide. You would be forgiven for expecting a gripping documentary full of passion and competitiveness, celebrating the life and career of a worldwide icon who has since suffered a horrific and devastating injury. If you know of Michael Schumacher but don’t know why you know of him, you would want the long-awaited title documentary to tell you exactly why he is known as one of the greatest.

Unfortunately, this just didn’t deliver.

After all you're not my type [Books I'll never finish]

I get an influx of followers and then writers block decides to hit me bad! Amazing. But here I am, being the literary person I am and talking about books. Books that I hate. Books that I want to love. Books that I love but can’t finish. As my bookshelf grows, the percentage of unread books increases. And every now and then, my eye will catch a particular novel that I’ve tried, tried, and tried again to read, and just couldn’t. It haunts me.
Let’s talk about my bedroom for a sec. Oo er. I had books spilling out of my cupboard, falling off my desk, on the floor, in the corner, under the bed. Everywhere. Since then a lot of them have been moved to a sickasfrick bookshelf, which means I have more space for when I buy more books that I don’t intend to ever read!
I’ll show you my setup one day. It’s pretty weird for a blogger. No minimalism, no clean fresh look, no millennial pink. No candles, succulents, or quotes. Just a poster of Senna and a framed Patrick Bateman. That’s me. An improvement after a wall plastered with Kerrang and Metal Hammer pages, and various posters from HMV and Camden Market. But I digress. Again. Here are a bunch of books I’ve never been able to finish; please bear in mind that I am a Chuck Palahniuk girl through and through, so cut me some slack when I’m unable to finish a romance. Thanks, let’s begin x

Anywhere I go I make the gang go [Wales journal]

PSA: My heart belongs to North Wales. This is a long overdue post.
I always say I hate the shithole in which I live, but that I would never leave London unless I was going to Finland/somewhere in Scandinavia. Well, except I ABSOLUTELY WOULD!!!! To North Wales.
The last time we went to south Wales everybody was racist, so bye.

I love Snowdonia. I love Conwy. I love Llandudno. I love the people, the accent, the air. I am not a people person really, but everyone here is so nice!!! I love it!! It makes me wanna be a better person. I love that nobody litters. That actually warmed my cold, dead (joking, it’s warm, bloody, and very much beating) heart. I didn’t see that many bins, but nobody threw anything on the floor (except a couple banana skins on the mountain, hashtag slow release energy). I love that everywhere you go, you can see mountains. I love all the streams and I love that there are sheep literally EVERYWHERE. I’m not a beach person. But I am a mountain person. I am definitely a free-roaming-animals-in-the-street person.

F1 Live

Brace yourselves, because you’re about to see a whole lot of photos from one of the best days ever.
As soon as I found out the event was going to take place on Wednesday, I cleared my schedule straight away (which consisted solely of getting hours of beauty sleep before graduation on Thursday) and got there for 12. I had some questions like: you’re graduating tomorrow, wyd???? True, I wasn’t prepared at all. But f1 comes first even if it means graduating with a spotty face and dark circles.
Lucky I did get there early, too. The crowds were minimal and I ended up getting a very, very good view of the ‘track’.  A few hours later and it was swarming.
Unfortunately, having a good view of the track meant I wasn’t close enough to see Nico (my favourite ever) close up on stage… or anyone else for that matter. But I saw them walk past on the road, and I could still see them on stage, so it’s alright. We had to pick: road or stage. I picked the road, because I went to see them drive more than I went to watch them talk. Obviously. (I admit, I was a little upset and not seeing Bastille close up.)
I’d still pick the smell of those cars any day. High octane fuel. Burning rubber. Mmm. Get in my lungs.
Anyway, after a long day, and going back to see the cars after the show, some pushing and shoving from people who were clearly not F1 fans, I got home late enough to frantically worry because I remembered GRADUATION!!! I had an amazing post-f1 glow, which was perfect for the high definition photos I’d be featured in on Thursday. Highlighting my ugly.
In other news, without discussing the absolutely mAD race today at Silverstone, who’s excited for Williams next month??? Because I am. I’m going to watch it alone. Twice. Or maybe thrice.
Notice how I didn’t talk about Lewis Hamilton because I didn’t want to see him anyway. I literally went for everyone else. I’ll talk about him later.
Enjoy.

Review: Pro Supps Mr Hyde

Just a quick review to tell you that this shit GOT ME FUCKED UP. Fucked up. Unless you’re a 200lb powerlifter, just go.
You’ll find this devil here.
Okay it’s not that bad.
Let’s rewind a little. I usually use ON amino energy as my preworkout, and I have been for a few years now. It gives me clean energy, and it is honestly so nice that I use it as a pick me up and even drink it when I’m studying. It’s nice. Compared to Mr Hyde, it’s baby food. No, it’s water. Oh man.
I didn’t take a full serving of it – I literally just used the same (heaped) scoop that comes with amino energy and drank up. 20 minutes later, I felt a really nice buzz and I was ready to GO. I mean GO bitch, GO. I was so alert, buzzing around like a fly. Honestly, I felt like I had just taken cocaine and I just whizzed through my workout. I was so pumped I could rip a bitch’s head off.
HOWEVER!!!!! HOWEVER.
An hour in and I started to feel sick AND energetic. Like it provided energy for my brain to spin even faster. Since I was alert, I was very aware of it. I had suddenly acquired tinnitus. An hour after that and I was finished. I started to feel unbelievably nauseous. Now I don’t know if it was the effect of so much caffeine (amino energy isn’t even really a pre-workout), or because my body was working harder than my brain thought it could, but it fucked me UP. I recommend it if you can handle the side effects. Let’s get a little in depth.
Taste:
At first I was like yeah!!!!! But then I was like no!!!!!!!! It’s so sweet. This literally tastes like someone melted down a jolly rancher. In theory, it’s nice. But there’s nothing to cut through the sweetness and honestly didn’t help my nausea later on. I mean it’s not bad. It’s drinkable. I don’t really care for taste if it delivers. But nausea is a bitch.

Part time love just brings me down

So I found something and immediately wanted to share it with someone, so here it is. During my usual procrastination fuelled internet binge, I found a bunch of the most adorable  pictures/illustrations and THEY ARE ALL ME. I have never related to cartoons so much. (Except for the vegetarian one….looks like we’re having steak every day for the next two weeks).
